Project Overview
During my university studies, as part of my “Interactive Design” course I was tasked with creating an interactive product to solve an issue.
I created an interactive, multipurpose desk lamp which aided the issue of the intense stress university students undergo whilst studying. I did so by creating a design that emulated a warm and calming feeling with the use of forms and colours.
Using recycled materials, I constructed a light which can be adjusted to provide direct light at the users wish. The construction of the lamp shade heavily resembles the mechanisms seen in umbrellas. Using this as a design precedent, I was able to use transferable aspects of an umbrella to create this interactive design.
